Chanathip, Theerathon to miss World Cup qualifier against UAE

Thailand national team Milovan Rajevac has called up 24 players for 2018 World Cup qualifiers against the UAE on June 13.

According to the announcement from Football Association of Thailand (FAT), the Thai national squad are assembling in Kiarti Thanee Country Club for the training camp this time.

In preparation for the qualifiers against UAE, Rajevac has summoned 9 Muangthong United players, including Kawin Thamsatchanan, Tristan Do, Theerathon Bunmathan, Adisorn Promrak, Wattana Playnum, Mongkol Tossakrai, Chanathip Songkrasin, Teerasil Dangda and Peerapat Notchai.

However, recent reports from Siamsport said that Chanathip and Theerathon could not join the squad due to injuries. Chanathip has back pain while Theerathon’s having his wisdom tooth removed.

Rajevac’s men conceded a 2-0 defeat to Uzbekistan in a warm-up for the next week’s World Cup Qualifiers. Players from Muangthong United and Chiang Rai United didn’t participate in the match as they have just completed each other in the domestic league several days before.
