Thailand eliminated from World Cup Qualification, Vietnam earned away draw

Australia 2-0 United Arab Emirates (World Cup Qualification – Third Round)

Australia ended a run of four consecutive World Cup qualifying draws with a 2-0 victory over the UAE at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney on Tuesday night.

Jackson Irvine (7′) and Matthew Leckie (78′) were the scorers for the Socceroos. The win took the Socceroos to 13 points, 3 points behind Group B leaders Saudi Arabia and Japan.

Australia’s next qualifying match is a home match against Saudi Arabia on June 8 this year.
