Foreign-born midfielder sets for trial with Vietnam U-20

Vietnam U-20 head coach Hoang Anh Tuan has given the green light for the foreign-born Tony Le Tuan Anh to have a trial with the team in preparation for the coming U-20 FIFA World Cup. Tony Le Tuan Anh joined the squad last night and will commence training soon.

“Tuan Anh will be training with the squad,” an assistant manager confirmed. “However, that doesn’t mean he will make the squad automatically. Tuan Anh needs to convince the head coach with his performances in the training sessions.”

“Tony Tuan Anh could play either defensive or attacking midfielder. Tomorrow morning (March 22), he will undergo medical tests with the squad before training sessions with the squad,” he added.

Tony Le Tuan Anh was born on August 26, 1999 in Benesov, Czech Republic. He joined the Bohemians Praha academy in 2011 and is currently a squad member of Bohemians U-19. His parent are both Vietnamese, making the young midfielder eligible to represent the country for U-20 FIFA World Cup in South Korea.

The first training session of Vietnam U-20 will be held today’s afternoon at the 19/8 Stadium in Nha Trang.
