Six most memorable World Cup wins in Southeast Asia football history

4. Singapore 1-0 Qatar (World Cup 1994 qualification)

Singapore had quite a talented squad in the mid-1990s and one would dare to dream what could have happened if their qualifying group didn’t contain a tough North Korean team.

Still, there was the memorable 1-0 home win against eventual group runners-up Qatar. The scorer of the only goal with six minutes on the clock was none other than the legendary Fandi Ahmad.

The Singapore team of that year ended up third in their Group with 10 points after 8 games, just behind North Korea (15 points) and Qatar (11 points).
