Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Didier Zokora is poised to join Indonesian Liga 1 side Semen Padang as a marquee signing, Football Tribe has learnt.
Zokora, who spent the last two years at Indian Super League sides Pune City and North East United, has arrived in Jakarta on Sunday to meet his agent Gabriel Budi before departing to Padang.
The 36-year-old is currently the most capped player for Ivory Coast with 123 appearances and has represented his national team for nearly 15 years since made debut in 2000.
He spent 15 seasons in the European football, starting out at Belgium’s Genk before going on to feature for Saint-Etienne, Tottenham, Sevilla, Trabzonspor, Akhisar Belediyespor.
Semen Padang are expected to unveil the deal on Monday as Zokora will be the one of biggest transfers in Indonesian football this season after Michael Essien, Carlton Cole, Peter Odemwingie, Shane Smeltz and Mohamed Sissoko.
