Bayern Munich identifies Šeško and Gyökeres as potential Harry Kane replacements if release clause activated

As Bayern Munich prepares for the possibility of Harry Kane exercising his release clause, the club has proactively explored options for his potential successor.

According to Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl, the Bavarians have specifically targeted RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres as prime candidates.

Regardless of Kane’s future, Bayern is already looking ahead in the market, with both Šeško, 21, and Gyökeres, 26, having emerged as key names in internal discussions. Each player would command a transfer fee of around €70 million but would earn considerably less than Kane.

With Kane’s release clause set to expire in the summer of 2025, Bayern’s sporting directors, Eberl and Freund, have at least a year to find a suitable replacement.

Speculation suggests that Kane could leave in the summer of 2026, making it crucial for Bayern to act strategically.Šeško and Gyökeres are both enjoying impressive campaigns this season, which could complicate their availability in 2026 if they secure moves elsewhere. Nevertheless, both players fit the profile that Bayern Munich seeks.

At just 21 years old, Šeško could be ideally positioned to step into Kane’s role when the English striker eventually departs.

This potential transition is something for Bayern fans to consider as they look to the future.
