Italian newspaper Tuttosport claimed Serie A Club Torino are interested in Iran national team goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand.
Beiranvand who plays for Tehran giant Persepolis, shone at 2018 World cup and made a name for himself with saving Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty.
26-year-old goalkeeper also helped Persepolis to clinch Iran league title for three seasons on a bounce and reaching to AFC Champions league final last year, so he cemented his reputation as one the best goalkeepers in the continent.
Torino have Italian international goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu as first choice and they want Beiranvand as backup.
However, he has a 600,000 euros release clause in his contract with Persepolis that runs out until 2021.
Italian media also reported two other Serie A clubs Cagliari and Atalanta set their sights on Beiranvan and are ready to give him the chance to play in one of the Europe top five leagues.
But it seems Iranian shot-stopper prefers to join Torino. “I dream of playing against CR7 in Turin derby,” he told Tuttosport.
Beiranvand had already been linked with a move to Turkish sides Besiktas and Fenerbahce last summer but Persepolis rejected their bids.
