South Korea 2-0 Germany: 5 things we learned

2.VAR proves crucial for South Korea

Had VAR not been in existence, maybe Germany would have progressed into the next round.

Kim Young-gwon looked to have scored an offside goal late on and the linesman raised his flag to disallow it.

A check was made, and it was shown that Toni Kroos had played the ball and not a Korean player which therefore made the goal stand.

Who knows what would have happened had Germany got away with that one, but this proves why VAR is a great thing when used correctly.
