India to compete with South Africa, New Zealand and Chinese Taipei in the Hero Intercontinental Cup from June 1-10, 2018

 

The Mumbai Football Arena will be hosting four-nation Hero Intercontinental Cup 2018 as hosts India will compete with South Africa, New Zealand and Chinese Taipei in the competition as a preparation for India’s AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 campaign.

The respective federations have agreed to send their first team as per agreement with AIFF as every team with play each other once and eventually the top two would compete in the Final.

The Indian National team placed 97th in the latest FIFA ranking is expected to have a tough tasks cut out as they compete with the likes of South Africa and New Zealand who have featured in the World Cup back in 2010.

The general secretary of AIFF Mr.Kushal Das reiterated the importance of the tournament for the Indian football team prepare for the Asian Cup UAE 2019 and was looking forward to the successful hosting of the four-nation tournament.

The Mumbai Football Arena is expected to witness this engrossing contest as a resurgent Blues team faces the likes of South Africa, Chinese Taipei and New Zeland in front of raucous home support in preparation for its build-up to the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019.
