North Korea and Malaysia would play their Asian Cup final round Group B qualifiers at Bangkok in November, as revealed by Malaysia national head coach Nelo Vingada.
“There is a possibility both matches against North Korea will be played in Bangkok. We must win these matches, and furthermore, Bangkok is not a place that is foreign or alien to us,” said Vingada on Saturday, as quoted by the New Straits Times.
On Thursday, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) decided to move the venue of the Asian Cup qualifiers between North Korea and Malaysia to a neutral soil.
The original match day had been postponed twice due to political tensions between both countries, which leads to a ban by the Malaysian Government on its citizens traveling to North Korea.
North Korea’s home match will take place on 10 November and both teams will play the return fixture three days later. The venue of this match will be announced by AFC next week.
