Brazilian midfielder Paulinho has confirmed that his agent Giuliano Bertolucci is currently negotiating a deal with Barcelona officials.
“I’m proud that a great club like Barcelona are interested in me”, Paulinho said, as quoted by Brazilian news outlet Globoesporte.
However, the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder said he is unsure if a move back to the Europe at this stage could benefit his career.
“I’m happy where I am now and the way my career is going”, Paulinho said.
“I need to weigh up a lot of things before making a final decision.”
Paulinho joined Guangzhou Evergrande from Tottenham in 2015 for €14 million. He helped the team to back-to-back league titles in 2015 and 2016, as well as the 2015 AFC Champions League title.
