Indonesia U22 team have recorded a 2-0 victory over Cambodia in a friendly match held in Phnom Penh on Thursday.
Striker Irfan Bachdim scored the opening goal in the 26th minute after capitalizing on a mistake made by a Cambodian defender. Meanwhile, the Kouprey Blue created several chances but failed to put the ball into the visitors’ net.
Indonesia played well in the second half and had chances to double the lead, most notably when Febri Haryadi sent the ball over the bar in the 58th minute. Meanwhile, Cambodian Japan-based attacker Chan Vathanaka also had a shot on goal saved by goalkeeper Kurnia Meiga.
The Garuda’s second goal arrived in the stoppage time, when Hanif Sjahbandi assisted 18-year-old Gian Zola to score.
