Leonardo Vitorino handed Cambodia head coach job

Cambodia’s search for a new national team head coach has ended with the appointment of Brazilian tactician Leonardo Vitorino.

The former Lanexang United manager was appointer by Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) on Thursday to replace South Korean coach Lee Tae-hoon.

Vitorino started his managerial career in Asia after joining Qatar Stars League side Al Gharafa as technical director in 2006.

The 44-year-old tactician then moved to Thailand in 2014 to work technical director in Buriram United before leaving for Lao Premier League two years later to replace Dave Booth as Lanexang head coach.

He successfully led Lanexang to win the LPL in the first time in history last year, but his winning-title reign came in an early fashion with the club decided to pull out of the league this season.
