Australia defender Aziz Behich was confident ahead of Thursday’s Group C match against Denmark at the FIFA World Cup.
Australia’s meeting with Denmark will be crucial to decide their campaign at this tournament after losing to France 2-1 in their first game.
“We know what we have to do,” defender Aziz Behich said, as quoted by The Guardian.
“We went into the last game to get all three points, even though it was against France. We know what we have to do tomorrow to make sure we stay in the competition.”
Behich has been credited to an own goal, which helped France beat Australia 2-1, by FIFA following the match.
The winning goal for Les Bleus came on 81st minute, when Paul Pogba looped off the Australian defender before hitting the underside of the crossbar and bouncing just over the goal line.
But it has now been ruled that Behich got the final touch and the 27-year-old defender has now been credited with an own goal.
The Socceroos currently sit third in Group C behind Denmark, who beat Peru 1-0 in their opening World Cup match.
