Bad news comes from Malaysian club, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT). After their coach, Ulysses Morais left because of family problem, now their foreign striker, Jorge Pereyra Diaz, has reportedly left the club last night.
The news was confirmed by JDT Director of Technical, Alistair Edward, through club’s official Facebook account.
“We would like to inform our fans that Jorge Pereyra Diaz had left the team’s hotel in Singapore at 12.00 midnight before the departure for Vietnam for their AFC Cup match,” claimed Alistair.
“His agent contacted us and informed of his intention to leave the club. The club has decided to respect the decision and let him go. We will look for a new foreign player replacement when the transfer window reopens in June,” added Alistair.
Now, JDT only has one foreign striker, Luciano Figueroa. They actually have another one, but Gonzalo Cabrera was not registered for AFC Cup.
This is not the first time Diaz left JDT. In 2016, he left the club, reported that he was disappointed with the club treatment. But, his relationship with the now Persib Bandung head coach, Mario Gomez, was fine as the report said. So, what is the reason he left the JDT again?
There are two possible reasons. First, because Diaz does not follow the club’s rules and principles. Through JDT’s official Instagram account, the new Southern Tigers coach, Raul Longhi, made a statement that says no one is bigger than the club.
Another reason is Gomez, his ex-coach. A rumor about Diaz joins Persib because his good relationship with Gomez has been fly around. Gomez is searching for the new foreign striker and Diaz has been sorted to join Persib since December 2017. Both of them are Argentinian and it will be the end of Gomez’s searching of the new striker if Diaz signs with Persib.
Whatever the reason is, Diaz has not shown his professionalism. But, if the rumor about the transfer is true, we cannot wait to see him in Indonesian League.
