Thailand international winger Supachok Sarachat scored his first goals for Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo in his side’s 4-1 win over Sagan Tosu in Wednesday’s J.League Cup action.
Hosting their opponents from Kyushu at the Sapporo Dome, Consadole went straight for the jugular and took the lead in the 8th minute – Supachok making good use of a Daiki Suga ball to beat Kei Uchiyama in the Sagan goal, the former Buriram United player’s first ever goal for the Northerners.
Yuji Ono’s 23rd minute effort drew the scoreline level, however Consadole regained their lead in the 53rd minute after Supachok finished off a counterattacking move with a venomous finish, completing his brace in the process.
Supachok then turned from scorer to provider by sending a through ball to Suga, who scored Consadole’s third goal of the game in the 57th minute. The hosts’ Slovenian striker Milan Tucic completed the win with his goal in the 83rd minute.
Wednesday’s J.League Cup matches also saw another Thai international in Kawasaki Frontale’s Chanathip Songkrasin turning out for his team, however unlike Supachok, Chanathip’s outing did not end well as he went off with an injury in the 31st minute in Kawasaki’s 6-0 drubbing of Shimizu S-Pulse.
