Message to Pogba from PSG faithful: “Pogba you should listen to your mother, she doesn’t want you here. Neither do we!”

Manchester United central midfielder and World Cup winner Paul Pogba is being strongly linked with a return to the Parc des Princes club in the Parisien capital this summer but it appears not all PSG fans are enamored of the player, as clearly evidenced by unflattering banners put up around the training grounds.

Some Paris Saint-Germain anti-Pogba dissidents have left banners with a clear message outside the club’s stadium and training ground telling Pogba in no uncertain terms he isn’t welcome at the club.

The Man United central midfielder has been long linked with a move away from Old Trafford, and he recently rejected a new £50m contract, with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season.

Pogba’s unwillingness to sign a new deal has forced United to look at selling their club record £89m signing – or risk losing him for nothing next summer.

PSG are believed to be willing to pay £45m for the 28-year-old, who impressed for France in this summer’s European Championships.

Although one would imagine that football-loving French aficionados would be gleefully raising their arms to welcome the World Cup winner, it’s now obvious that a number of PSG fans are totally against the idea due to the fact that Pogba’s family grew up in the area supporting their bitter rivals Marseille.

Speaking in an interview with Canal+ back in 2018, Pogba said: “I’m sure that I wouldn’t play club football at the Parc des Princes.

“I’m not attracted to that because my father and mother were fans of Marseille so Paris doesn’t really fit into my plans.”

And making reference to this, the banners left by the PSG faithful bore a message which read:

“Pogba you should listen to your mother, she doesn’t want you here. Neither do we!”

Despite not having succeeded with trying to lure Lionel Messi over to the Parc des Princes, PSG certainly look like they mean business going forward after having already had a busy summer completing the signings of Gini Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, Danilo Pereira and Gianlugi Donnarumma, not to mention also having extended manager Mauricio Pochettino’s contract until 2023.

The addition of Pogba would add further strength in depth, and although it appears a section of the fans do not want him, it would be intriguing to see if PSG would be able to get the best out of him.

Pogba, who left United in 2012 for Juventus, returned to Old Trafford in 2016 for a club record fee but has failed to live up to expectations.
