Suárez told he has to leave the club

With Ronald Koeman at the helm as the new boss and Barcelona’s new coaching team already pre-armed by Bartomeu on who are not included in the list of ‘untransferables’, Luis Suárez has already been informed that he must depart. The club believes that it is time for the Uruguayan striker to leave considering his age and poor performances over the past few seasons.

The president had earlier excluded the Uruguayan in his list when he named the players who are ‘untouchable’ and the club is ready to sell Suarez if a good offer arrives, with Ajax showing keen interest in bringing their former star back to Amsterdam. Juventus are also another party willing to land the Uruguayan striker.

Luis Suarez very recently became the club’s 3rd highest goal-scorer in its history and has had some wonderful seasons at the Catalan club despite there being a consensus among fans that that it is time for the 33-year-old to step aside for the younger aspirants and look for a new career path.

Suárez has however made known his intentions to stay as he believes that he could still add a lot of value to the team. He will spurn any incoming offers from various European clubs this summer and is focused on continuing with Barcelona.

It’s not known if Barcelona will terminate the player’s contract in the absence of good offers.
