Takefusa Kubo Joins Villarreal on Loan for 2020-21 Season

Real Madrid’s Japanese starlet Takefusa Kubo is set to join fellow La Liga side Villarreal on loan for the 2020-21 season, as recently confirmed by both clubs

Real Madrid has confirmed that their young Japanese star Takefusa Kubo will join fellow La Liga side Villarreal on loan for the 2020-21 season.

Kubo spent the 2019-20 season on loan at RCD Mallorca, also in the Spanish top flight, where he made 35 appearances and registered 4 goals and 5 assists. However, his contributions were unable to keep Mallorca in the division, as they finished 19th on 33 points.

Having already proved his worth, Kubo is making the step up to fifth-placed Villarreal, who will compete in the Europa League next season. He will also unite with former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery, who was recently hired by the ‘Yellow Submarine.’

This is an exciting development for the player, who was slated to spend last season in the second division with Real Madrid Castilla and significantly over-performed by nailing down a starting place in a La Liga team.

Takefusa Kubo will be looking to continue his rapid rise by nailing down a starting spot for one of Spain’s biggest clubs next season.
