Sangju Sangmu Beat Leaders Jeonbuk to Retain Third Place

Sangju Sangmu managed an impressive 1-0 win over defending champions Jeonbuk Hyundai, retaining their third-place spot and helping Ulsan close the gap on the top of the table.

Daegu FC looked to take the third-place spot from Sangju Sangmu, as they beat Gwangju FC 4-2 in their away game.

However, the military team managed to surprise the entire league with their 1-0 home win over Jeonbuk, who had collected 24 out of 27 points before this game. The game was decided by a penalty kick from Kang Sang-woo in the 77th minute.

This result was very positive for Ulsan Hyundai, who had won their game against Incheon United the previous day. A goal from Lee Chung-yong and a hattrick from top scorer Junior Negrao helped them win 4-1.

One point separates the two teams at the top of the table, while Sangmu remains just another three points behind because of their impressive result.
