Thai International and former Muangthong United captain Sarach Yooyen has officially signed for BG Pathum United.
Sarach Yooyen is one of the most renowned players in the country and is a regular at the national team level for Akira Nishino’s Thailand side. The elegant creative midfielder comes with massive star power and represents a major statement of ambition from BG.
The creative midfielder will likely partner Thitipan Puangchan in BG’s starting lineup, who he plays alongside for the Thai national team and has helped bring the best out of since his return to the War Elephants setup.
Sarach is also set to wear the number 6 for BG, which had previously been retired in honor of club legend Amnaj Kaewkiew.
The latest player to leave Muangthong United, Sarach’s shock departure unfolded at a remarkable pace as the club continued to offload their stars due to financial difficulties. Following other major departures in the pre-season transfer window, this represents a major shift for Muangthong, who now must look towards the youth in the absence of major established stars.
It is also reported that BG Pathum is set to unveil another major signing very soon, as they ramp up their efforts to become title contenders when the 2020 campaign continues.
