The English Premier League is the next competition to be postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, with this weekend’s round of fixtures being called off due to the public health concern.
According to the BBC, the league is set to be halted until April 3rd at least, at which time the situation will be reviewed. However, it is unlikely that even that restart date will be viable given the escalation of cases in the United Kingdom currently.
Among those infected include Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who both tested positive for the virus earlier this week.
Football has been rocked by the coronavirus outbreak, with a number of leagues around the world currently on hiatus.
