Japan’s rising star Takefusa Kubo scored his first goal La Liga goal for RCD Mallorca, a club that he has joined on loan this season from Real Madrid.
His goal came as the third in his side’s 3-1 victory over Villareal on Sunday. Despite having less of the possession and chances to score, the hosts entered the half-time break with a two-goal lead courtesy of Lago Junior and Daniel Rodriguez Vazquez.
The visitors managed to half the deficit shortly after the break from the penalty spot, with veteran midfielder Santi Cazorla stepping up to score.
However, Kubo stepped up in the 53rd minute, receiving the ball at the edge of the box and shaping some room for himself before firing a low left-footed effort beyond the goalkeeper.
