Consadole Sapporo Interested in David Silva

According to various reports in Japanese media, J.League side Consadole Sapporo are reportedly approaching Manchester City star David Silva for a move to Hokkaido. The Spanish midfielder’s contract with the English champions runs out at the end of the current European league season and could be available for a move to the far east on a free transfer.

If the move does materialize, Silva will join fellow World Cup-winning Spanish stars in the J.League, including Andres Iniesta and David Silva, who are currently at Vissel Kobe.

Since their promotion at the start of 2017, Consadole have become a well-renowned team across Asia. Their signing of Thai star Chanathip Songkrasin has garnered them a lot of attention in Thailand and boosted their image internationally. A potential capture of a star name like David Silva will help that image grow exponentially.

Currently, the side are sitting in 7th place with four games left in the season after narrowly missing out on AFC Champions League qualification with a 4th place finish last year.

The side also currently field former Cardiff City and Queens Park Rangers striker Jay Bothroyd.
