Akira Nishino has taken the extended break ahead of the next international break to call up a 32-man provisional squad ahead of World Cup qualifying games against Malaysia and Vietnam.
This decision has allowed the Japanese coach to pick four debutants for his squad, which he will take a closer look at the during the coming weeks.
Chiangrai United’s Apirak Worawong and Sarawut Inpaen, as well as Samut Prakan City duo Chaiyawat Srinawong and Theerapol Yoryoei, were selected by Nishino for the first time ahead of the upcoming qualifying games.
Additionally, he has also selected 17-year-old Buriram United striker Suphanat Mueanta, even though he is set to compete in the AFC U19 Championship qualifiers and in the SEA Games with the U23 team.
Elsewhere, a provisional U23 squad is also working to prepare for the upcoming SEA Games tournament in the Philippines, which commences on the 26th of November.
Currently, assistant Totchtawan Sripan is working with the U23 side in preparation for the SEA Games, with Nishino likely to take over after the senior teams’ World Cup qualifying matches.
