Ex-Barcelona youth player, Lee Seung-woo struggles to be fielded in his new club in Belgium.

The 21-year-old winger made a bold move to the Belgian side, Sint-Truidense V.V.(STVV) this summer from Serie A’s newly-promoted Hellas Verona F.C., where he made his first professional debut.

Originating from La Masia, FC Barcelona’s youth academy, Lee once dreamt of following footprints of his respected senior, Lionel Messi, but ventured to a less competitive league to secure a spot on the starting eleven.

However, it seems like the 2018 Asian Games gold medalist is not part of Marc Brys(STVV’s manager)’ plan. After penning down for STVV on 30 August 2019, Lee failed to appear on any of the first team’s match sheet up to date.

There have been several rumors suggested about the South Korean prodigy’s extreme exclusion from the team: attitude in training and disagreement with the coach.

At this point, where the manager has officially pressed down on Lee during the press conference to call for “investment in present, rather than dreaming of the past”, the South Korean international’s debut for STVV is still in a fog.
