A 0-0 draw at Kim Il-Sung Stadium in Pyongyang was not enough for Hanoi to secure their first AFC Cup final appearance.

The 0-0 draw in the second leg mean that the tie finish with the 2-2 draw on aggregate and the North Koreans advance to the final to face Al Ahed of Lebanon.
