Persela Lamongan Become Arema’s Nightmare Again

Persela Lamongan won 2-0 against Arema FC in front of their fanatics LA Mania in Surajaya stadium on Friday night. This result means that Singo Edan have not won in their last 4 matches. This result is also a perfect redemption for Laskar Joko Tingkir after their loss 3-2 in Kanjuruhan on the first half of the league.

Persela Lamongan opened the scoring on the 19th minutes after Sugeng Effendi successfully to convert Kei Hirose’s low pass from the left side. Persela then doubled their lead on the 48th minutes by a goal from Rafael “Rafinha” Oliviera. Meanwhile, Alex Goncalves didn’t score any goals, but he he still leading the top scorer with 16 goals.

Arema’s coach Milomir Seslija already predicted that the game against Persela in Surajaya would not be easy. “Unfortunately, we made a big mistake that lead them to score the first goal. We try to attack more in the second half but they were good on ball position,” said the Bosnian.

Another Eastern Java giants, Persebaya Surabaya, closed Week 19 with a big 0-4 win over PSIS Semarang in the Moch Soebroto stadium in Magelang. Diogo Campos, who made debut after moved from Kalteng Putram became one of the goal scorers. After this result Bajol Ijo now moved to the 4th position in table while Arema remained in 8th position. Persela and PSIS stand in the 13th and 14th position respectively.
