World Cup Qualifying Matchday 2- SEA Best XI

Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia were in action in Group G on Tuesday night. Check out our picks for the best players from the latest round of matches:

Goalkeeper

Name: Siwarak Tedsungnoen

Age: 35

Nationality: Thailand

Captain Siwarak earned Thailand and himself the second clean sheets of this World Cup qualifiers. The Buriram United goalkeeper did well to come out and close down the angle to deny Irfan Bachdim in the 33rd minute, preventing a goal which would have changed the game.

Right Back

Name: Matthew Davis

Age: 24

Nationality: Malaysia

The right-back showed his ability to create chances for Malaysia from wide areas, and overall had another impressive game.

Center Back

Name: Yanto Basna

Age: 24

Nationality: Indonesia

A leader in the Garuda's defense, he made many key tackles and blocks. Basna was not as brave as Manahat,  who stepped up and effectively became a defensive midfielder against Malaysia, but this was a positive as it allowed the Sukhothai defender to concentrate on keeping Thailand out.

Center Back

Name: Manuel Bihr

Age: 25

Nationality: Thailand

Manuel Bihr spent most of the match in duels against Indonesian target man Beto Goncalves. The powerful center-back won many aerial challenges and stopped his opponent's hold up play well.

Left Back

Name: Theerathon Bunmathan

Age: 29

Nationality: Thailand

Theerathon Bunmathan played with the level of calmness you'd expect to see from one of the squad's most experienced players and one who plies his trade in the J-League. His neat touches and passing meant that no Indonesian players could close him down. The Marinos left-back also converted a penalty which gave Thailand a 2-0 lead in the 65th minute.

Central Midfielder

Name: Evan Dimas

Age: 24

Nationality: Indonesia

The master on the midfield, Evan had to struggle to maintain possession against an attacking Changsuek side. He did not attack too much, like ion the first game. Instead, he was forced to focus more on the defensive aspect of the game.

Central Midfielder

Name: Sarach Yooyen

Age: 27

Nationality: Thailand

Sarach Yooyen excelled by playing from a deeper position alongside Phitiwat Sukjitthammakul as a double-pivot. The Kirin midfielder was free to roam and pick up possession in front of his own defense, dictating plays and spreading passes without pressure.

Central Midfielder

Name: Brendan Gan

Age: 31

Nationality: Malaysia

Gan was calm in the midfield, where he helped to control the game, and has the ability for attempting long-range shots.

Right Midfielder

Name: Safawi Rasid

Age: 22

Nationality: Malaysia

His left foot is incredibly dangerous, especially when he is in the penalty box. His performances at this high level show that he is destined for great things.

Left Midfielder

Name: Supachok Sarachat

Age: 21

Nationality: Thailand

The Buriram United star silences his critics as he scored two goals and won a penalty in Thailand's 3-0 demolition of Indonesia at the Gelora Bung Karno. Supachok was, in our opinion, heavily criticise for not squaring a pass to Chanathip Songkrasin and failing to score in the final seconds of extra-time as the Changsuek shared a point with bitter rivals Vietnam on matchday 1. Bet no one is complaining about Supachok's "selfishness" now.

Striker

Name: Syafiq Ahmad

Age: 24

Nationality: Malaysia

The attacker proved his quality with high balls as he continued his scoring run with another header.
