Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi FC are the two teams leading the league. They are the teams which have been consistent since the campaign began. For Hanoi, a win would give them a massive boost in their hunt for back-to-back league titles. For the home team, they will closer to their first title in their history with the win. 

As such, Friday night’s game could be the turning point for both sides this season.

Ho Chi Minh City - Preview 

Ho Chi Minh City started the season with the target to finish in the top half of the table. However, they have since blown those expectations out of the water, mostly due to their superb defensive record. Beating the defenders of Ho Chi Minh City has been shown to not be a simple task for all the teams in the league. Coach Chung Hae-Song always want the team to not concede goals before thinking about the win. They are now one of two teams with the fewest goals scored against them in the league, shipping only 16 goals from 17 games.

Hanoi FC - Preview

Hanoi are playing one of the most difficult seasons in their history. Up to now, they have played 29 matches in all competitions, the most in the league. With their participation in AFC Cup, Hanoi always in the tight schedule with 2-3 games per week to play. Most of the squad suffer from fatigue and two of the important players, Dinh Trong and Oseni, have been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to serious injuries.

However, the team still is one of the best in the league, which is demonstrated by the fact that they are still fighting for the title and are only a point behind the league leaders despite these challenges.

Obviously, the match will be one of the deciding games for the title. However, the league still has eight games after this match, meaning a total of 24 points left to play for, so neither side will risk everything for the victory. 

In fact, the match may end up slightly boring for neutrals, due to the caution of both teams. Neither of them will accept a loss at the moment. Ultimately, I think the match will be decided by the shining moment from the stars of two teams. I predict a draw for this game and the title race will be still tight until the end of the season.
