Shanghai SIPG Sign West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic

Defending Chinese Super League champions Shanghai SIPG have moved to sign Austrian striker Marko Arnautovic from West Ham, according to this official press release put out by the East London club.

According to various media outlets, the fee for Arnautovic is rumored to be around €25m. At 30 years old, the forward still has a lot to offer and could become a real force for Shanghai when linking up with Brazilian attackers Oscar and Hulk.

The forward has turned out for a number of top European times in his career, including Inter Milan, Weder Bremen, Stoke City, and West Ham United.

After winning the Super League by five points last season, SIPG find themselves two points off the top going into the second half of the 2019 campaign and locked in a heated battle for the title with Guangzhou Evergrande and Beijing Guoan. They are also set to face Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League.

Arnautovic is expected to replace Elkeson in Shanghai SIPG’s foreign player quota.
