Japan Star Shoya Nakajima Joins FC Porto

Japan National Football team star Shoya Nakajima has joined Portuguese side FC Porto from Qatari team Al-Duhail in a deal valued at €12m.

One of the nation’s brightest upcoming talents, Nakajima played for Tokyo Verdy and FC Tokyo during his time in Japan, before moving to Portuguese Liga NOS outfit Portimonense.

Earlier this year, Nakajima completed a move to Qatari Stars League team Al-Duhail for €35m, the highest fee ever paid for a Japanese player.

Capable of playing in most positions across the attacking midfield line, Nakajima is known as a playmaker and skilfull dribbler.

The winger has also made 13 appearances for the Japan senior team, including three at the recent 2019 Copa America, where he scored in the game against Uruguay.
