Captain Nguyen Van Quyet scored a brace to help Hanoi FC beat Nam Dinh 4-3 at Thien Truong stadium.
The hosts opened the scoring just two minutes after kick-off thanks to the long-range shot from Sy Minh, but two goals from Van Quyet and strikes from Nguyen Quang Hai and Pape Omar Faye helped the defending V.League champions come from behind. They were chased down to the wire as Anh Quang and Gustavo scored another two for the host, but ultimately the capital club emerged victorious and continued their forward march in the cup.
In the other match, Binh Duong won away from home against Sai Gon FC, with the only goal coming from new signing Pedro Augusto as the defending cup Champions qualified for the semi-final.
Earlier this round, Quang Nam and Ho Chi Minh City both earned a berth in the last four with penalty shoot-out victories Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Hai Phong respectively.
In the last four, Quang Nam will face Binh Duong while Hanoi take on Ho Chi Minh City.
