V.League action this weekend began on Friday night as league leaders Ho Chi Minh City extended the gap between themselves and second-placed Hanoi FC to 5 points with a 2-1 win over their hosts Than Quang Ninh. Joel Vinicius and Ngo Hoang Thinh got their names on the scoresheet to pull the league leaders through with a 2-1 win.

Hanoi look to bounce back from 1-4 defeat against Thanh Hoa in the previous round when they face SHB Danang at home. Chu Dinh Nghiem’s side have won all of their home games from the start of the season, and they are optimistic about their chances in this match despite missing top scorer Hoang Vu Samson and center back Tran Dinh Trong due to suspension.

In the other matches, Hoang Anh Gia Lai will take on Becamex Binh Duong in the effort to extend their good run, while third-placed team Song Lam Nghe An will welcome the bottom-placed team Sanna Khanh Hoa.
