After a hiatus to make room for the Piala Presiden, the official cup competition, the Piala Indonesia, is set to make a comeback with the first leg of the quarter-finals this week.

Borneo FC already managed a narrow 2-1 win over Persib Bandung last Wednesday, while Persebaya Surabaya vs Madura United’s game will re-scheduled.

The upcoming games will be between Bali United vs Persija Jakarta this Friday, and Bhayangkara FC against PSM Makassar on Saturday.

Bali United coach Stefano Cugurra Teco will have his first reunion against Persija Jakarta, the side he guided to winning the league title last season. Additionally, several Serdadu Tridatu’s players once played for Macan Kemayoran, making this a particularly interesting encounter.

Meanwhile, for PSM Makassar, the test against Bhayangkara FC will serve as good preparation before they continued the adventure in AFC Cup.

The kick-off for the 2019 Liga 1 season has been delayed, and the second phase of the cup competition will be played next week. However, there is still no solution for the rescheduled Persebaya Surabaya vs Madura United match, which will need to be solved imminently.
