A hat-trick in 15 minutes from Victor Mansaray helped Vietnam’s Becamex Binh Duong achieve a comfortable 6-0 win over Myanmar’s Shan United FC.
The hosts started the match very well with the early goal in the fifth minutes when captain Nguyen Anh Duc opened the scoring after a nice piece of build-up play. The Vietnamese club made their domination count on 25 minutes when To Van Vu’s thunderbolt from the edge of the area. Binh Duong was up 2-0 as the half-time whistle blew, and were well on their way to collecting all three points.
It took less than a minute into the second half for Nguyen Thanh Son’s side to make it 3-0, as Mansaray controlling the ball well before slotting is past goalkeeper Myo Min Latt for his goal of the match. The former United States U-20 international then went on to score two more goals in just four minutes, with a nice shot and a beautiful header to make the score 5-0 and bring his personal tally up to four.
Mansaray then turned provider in the final minute of regulation time. He sent the ball through to defender Rabo Ali to score the final goal of the game.
The win moves Binh Duong into second place in Group G, three points above Indonesian Liga 1 defending champions Persija Jakarta, who will play their match against group leaders Ceres-Negros next week.
