Ratchaburi Appoint Manolo Marquez as new Head Coach

Thai League side Ratchaburi FC have appointed former Las Palmas boss Manolo Marquez as their new head coach ahead of the 2019 Thai League season.

After finishing 12th last season, the Dragons are looking to push forward with their latest appointment.

The Spanish boss replaces Lassad Chabbi, who helped secure the side’s safety with only a single loss in their last five games.

Marquez has mostly worked in the lower divisions of Spanish football, having coached the B-teams of both Las Palmas and Espanyol during his time. After a brief stint in charge of the Canary Islands club’s senior team in 2017, he was most recently in charge of NK Istra in the Croatian league.

Along with their new coach, the Dragons have unveiled a raft of new signings during the off season. Their most impressive acquisition has been Ivorian striker Yannick Boli from Colorado Rapids in the MLS.

Ratchaburi completed an overhaul of their foreign player lineup by adding winger Steeven Langil from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen and defender Direcu from Londrina in Brazil’s second tier.
