It was with a great and collective grief that the world learned of the tragic passing of Vichai Srivaddhanaphraba, the owner and chairman of former Premier League champions Leicester City Football Club.
Hailing from Thailand, Khun Vichai became an ambassador for his country on the world’s biggest footballing stage, with his kindness, generosity, humility and ambition showcasing the best of his nation and endearing himself to the Leicester City supporters.
After purchasing the club for £39m back in , the man who made his fortune in the Duty Free industry transformed the club first into a Premier League side, and then into the unlikely 5000-1 Champions that the world will never forget.
There can be no doubt that Khun Vichai’s influence was crucial in the successes enjoyed by the club. His consistent devotion and genuine love for his team helped galvanise the side and transform them, in their own words, from a club to a family.
