Manchester City are trying to persuade Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta to join them instead of a Chinese Super League club.
Iniesta, who helped Barcelona win the Copa del Rey at the weekend, has been tipped to leave the Nou Camp for China this summer.
However, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola could reportedly enter the bidding for the Spanish midfielder, according to Spanish media outlets AS.
Pep Guardiola was in charge of Barcelona’s golden period between 2008 and 2012, when Iniesta was the key player among Xavi, Messi and Pique.
As reported by Spanish media, Iniesta is set to sign for Chinese Super League side Chongqing Dangdai Lifan at the end of the season following his departure from Barcelona.
