Andres Iniesta set to sign for Chinese Super League side Chongqing Dangdai Lifan at the end of the season following his departure from Barcelona.
As reported by Marca, Chongqing Lifan are leading the race to sign the Barcelona star. The Chinese club have pre-established links with Chinese businessman Jiang Lizhang, who is the president of Granada.
Marca also claimed that Chongqing Dangdai Lifan are the team with the best chance of signing Iniesta, as Lizhang is using his sports marketing agency to lure the Spanish legend from the Nou Camp.
Iniesta is expected to make an official announcement about his future after this Saturday’s Copa del Rey final between Barca and Sevilla.
Earlier this week, Spanish media outlet reported Iniesta had already decided to move to the Far East, after a Chinese club promised to acquire the rights to distribute his brand of wine, namely Bodega Iniesta, in the Chinese market.
