Yuto Nagatomo leaves Inter Milan to join Galatasaray on loan

Yuto Nagatomo has left Inter Milan to join Galatasaray on loan to secure his place in the Japan squad for 2018 FIFA World Cup.

In a brief announcement on the club’s official website, Inter said that Nagatomo joined Galatasaray on a paid loan until 30 June.

The Japanese international joined Nerazzurri in January 2011 and made 210 appearances with eleven goals. He was also part of the side which won the Coppa Italia in the 2010-11 season.

However, Nagatomo found it difficult to find a starting place in coach Luciano Palletti’s XI. He appeared in just one of Inter’s last 10 league games.

Therefore, the full-back, who has 101 caps for Japan, decided to leave to maintain his spot on the national squad ahead of the World Cup.
