Chongqing Lifan are on the verge of signing Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho da Silva from Gremio, as reported by Xinhua.
Brazil’s Gazeta Esportiva newspaper said both sides had reached the mutual agreement to financial terms.
Since Fernandinho’s contract with Gremio expires on December 31, Chongqing Lifan will be free to sign him on a free transfer.
Fernandinho will be an important signing for Chongqing Lifan as he has proven his exceptional scoring instinct.
The 32-year-old was a key member of the Gremio side that won this year’s Copa Libertadores, scoring 12 goals in 58 appearances in 2017.
