Thai League T1 champions Buriram United have ended their search for ASEAN player after signing Vietnamese striker Hoang Vu Samson from Hanoi FC.
The news came after much speculation in recent weeks, with The Thunder Castles were also expected to go after Samson’s teammate, Nguyen Van Quyet.
The 29-year-old striker is previously well-known as Samson Kayode and is Nigerian by birth, but was naturalised as Vietnamese through a program in 2013.
He started his career at V-League sides Thang Quang Ninh and Dong Thap, before being touted for a move to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in 2011.
However Hoang Vu Samson’s move to Spain did not go as planned, which led to his return to Vietnam and played for Hanoi FC in the following year.
