The agent of Michael Essien has confirmed that former Chelsea midfielder would extend his contract with Persib Bandung amid January transfer rumors.
“Essien is indeed a person who really likes football, he came to Indonesia not because of money, but because of football,” agent Amogou Mathieu told Goal Indonesia.
Amougou admitted that the Ghanaian player was getting an offer from another club but he still decided to stay at Persib.
Essien signed a one-year deal in March this year as a free agent. The deal also includes the option of an extension should the Ghanaian performs well for the Indonesian club.
