Vietnam became Southeast Asia’s top team in the latest FIFA world rankings for the month of December.
Despite playing only a game this past month with a goalless draw against Afghanistan, Vietnam climbed 13 places to number 112 in the world and 17th in Asia.
Meanwhile, the Philippines claimed the 124th rank, falling six spots from last month.
Myanmar became the biggest movers, rising by ten places to 140th to remain fourth in the region, behind Thailand.
Iran (32) remains Asia’s top-ranked team, while Germany will end the year as the world’s best team after holding on to the No. 1 spot.
