Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) will face Muangthong United in the AFC Champions League (ACL) preliminary round for the fourth consecutive year.
2015 AFC Cup winners JDT have to take on the Thai outfit on 23 January, in which the winners of this match will progress to the playoff round for a place in the group stage of the ACL.
There they will face a Japanese side whose identity will not be known until the final of the Emperor’s Cup on 1 January.
In 2017, Muangthogg overcame JDT to enter the ACL final qualifying round by winning in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 lockout.
