Bangkok Glass have promoted assistant coach Josep Maria Ferre to the new head coach for 2018 season, as announced by the club on their official website on Tuesday.
Josep “Coco” Ferre has been at the club as the assistant of former coach Aurelio Vidmar. After the departure of Vidmar in mid-season, Ferre was remained at the club to support caretaker Surachai Jatupatarapong.
The Spaniard started out his coaching career at Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona’s academy.
Later in 2013, Ferre moved to Thailand to become the Academy Director of Thai champions Buriram United. Two years later, he took charge of Ratchaburi Mitrpol FC before joining BGFC as an assistant to the then-coach Vidmar in 2016.
