Muangthong United finally earned a title in the 2017 season after claiming a 2-0 final win over Chiangrai United in Thailand League Cup final on Wednesday night.
Peerapat Notchaiya took the lead for Muangthong in the 35th minute after smashing the ball high into the net from an angle.
The Kirins saw off Chiang Rai with the goal from Teerasil Dangda on the hour mark and sealed the victory.
It was a sweet revenge for Muangthong following the loss against Chiang Rai in the FA Cup semi-finals.
However, coach Alexandre Gama and his side can still finish on a high in Saturday’s FA Cup final against Bangkok United at Supachalasai Stadium.
