Romania legend Gheorghe Hagi had turned down a lucrative offer to coach Saudi Arabia at next year’s World Cup finals in Russia, Reuters reported.
According to Romania reports, Hagi had been approached by Saudi Arabia officials before the appointment of Argentine Edgardo Bauza as Saudi head coach in September.
Meanwhile, the Romania greatest football player reaffirmed his commitment to his current club Viitorul Constanta,
Hagi founded Viitorul in 2009 and is currently both owner and chairman of the club.
Argentine boss Edgardo Bauza took over the coaching job of Saudi Arabia, following the resignation of Bert van Marwijk just over a week after guiding the team to the 2018 World Cup finals.
