After Persib Bandung manager Umuh Muchtar blamed Carlton Cole on the dismal season of the club, the former Chelsea striker decided to strike back.
In an interview with SuperBall.id on Sunday, Muchtar said that Persib Bandung had brought world-class football stars Michael Essien and Carlton Cole to Si Jalak Harupat Stadium with the ambition of dominating Liga 1.
However, the West Java-based club finished the 206/2017 season at the 13th position, with just six points above relegation zone.
On Twitter, Cole fought back and stated that the Persib players and supporters “deserve better”.
“I am to blame? I feel sorry for Persib players but mostly the Persib fans that they have to deal with such stupidity. You deserve better,” he wrote on Twitter.
